Sports & Societies Governance
Overall governance for sports & societies is through the UBU Constitution, sports & societies, also have devolved powers which are set out in the Areas Bylaws
Sports & Societies members must also abide to the UBU Code of Conduct
Sports & Societies Governing Document
Every club and activity group must have a governing document that has its long term aim, short term objectives and lists all its executive roles.

Sports & Societies Executive Agreement
UBU strongly advises that exec teams create an agreement that complements the governing document. This details how the team will work together, how duties will be delegated, any merged roles and how meetings and communications will work. UBU doesn't provide a template, instead you create it in the format that works best for you.

Development plan
UBU also advises that all new teams complete a development plan for the academic year to help everyone focus. It helps you take your objectives from your governing document and break these down into targets.

Year plan
A year plan is a great way to bring the exec team together and map out all the activities you plan to hold throughout the year. It's useful to then work back to set deadlines for forms and timelines for meetings.

Elections
Having democratic elections is an important part of a students' union. Please speak to the Student Engagement Team about having elections for your Sports Club or Society.
Your elections should include the following positions: President, Secretary & Treasurer. These positions are given access by the Student Engagement Team to the relevant area on the website and UBU finance.
