Insurance
Now, finally, something extremely important: INSURANCE
As organisers of the Basketball Tournament commencing on the 4th May 2018, we have been advised by insurance companies to inform you of insurance requirements.
Your personal player entry fee will cover you for public liability, i.e. your legal liability in respect of injury to a member of the public, or damage to a member of the public's property as a result of a stray basketball, etc. (Please note that if damage to University or Public property is deemed wilful, the full cost of the damage will be passed on to those involved and legal action may be taken).
Personal Injury
Many of you maybe, or rather should be, insured through England Basketball, or through your University Athletic Association membership, for injuries incurred whilst playing. If you are no longer a member of either a university, or England Basketball, personal accident insurance is available from most insurance companies at relatively little cost. Personal accident insurance is entirely up to the individual. As a player you will not be refrained from participating if you do not have insurance, but the tournament committee will in no way be held responsible for any injuries incurred during the tournament.
Cigarettes and Alcohol
Smoking and drinking alcohol are not permitted on the premises of any sporting venue. Please respect
the sport venues and refrain from smoking and drinking - violation seriously threatens the future of the tournament.
First Aid
No specific provision has been made for first aid as each venue has well equipped provision. If any
problems occur contact an organiser or a member of the venue staff.
