Would you like to help families across Bradford who are in need of food and essential baby items? We have an opportunity for a volunteer who can pick up items from food / baby banks across Bradford and deliver them to families in need. You will need to have access to your own insured and MOT’d vehicle and be able to find your way around the Bradford District mileage expenses will be reimbursed. You will use your communication skills to engage with people in a warm and friendly manner.

Before applying, we ask that volunteers consider their availability within the next few months- our opportunities are not short-term and recruitment checks can take around 2-3 months to complete.

These recruitment checks include DBS check, references, right to work and online training. You will also need attend a face-to-face Welcome Workshop and an Infection Prevention session.

Key responsibilities

Collect essential items of food / clothing / baby equipment from food and baby banks across the Bradford district Deliver the items collected to families in need Liaise with the Children’s Services Volunteer Coordinator on a weekly basis to organise collections / deliveries Greet service users in a polite and friendly manner whilst delivering goods Follow BDCFT safety protocol in relation to lone working
