To provide administration support to assist the STARS team with any appropiate administration tasks contributing to the smooth day to day running of the service. The role also includes helping staff facilitate activities and the occlusal day trip out.

Essential to have:

1) Exceellent communication skills including an appropiate telephone manner and peole skills

2) Some computer skills including being familiar with Microsoft Office, emails and database

3) A good standard of written and verbal English

4) A friendly, welcoming and flexible approach

5) Be reliable and non-judgemental 

6) Ability to use own initiative but be able to ask for help when needed

Desirable:

1) You do not have to have any related qualifications to this role but you should be understanding, patient, empathetic and have good listening skills. 

Induction and training:

  • All volunteers will have a 1-day induction
  • We also provide full training for all voluntary roles

Key responsibilities

1) Supporting a small group of clients and assisting them with any work relating to their support plan 2) Facilitating client activity support 3) Answering the telephone and addressing any queries raised 4) Taking and recording any referrals 5) Clients to appointments with the other agencies as agreed with support worker/manager 6) Undertaking Support Plan tasks as agreed with support worker/manager
