School Representatives: two paid roles still open
Your Students' Union is looking for two School Representatives for the School of Nursing, Public Health and Healthcare Leadership. These are the last two of the twelve School Representative roles to be filled. The other ten are in post and working, which means students in every school except Nursing, Public Health and Healthcare Leadership currently have someone representing them. We want that fixed, and we want it fixed quickly.
The Students' Union is going through a period of change. We're currently led by an Interim Chief Executive while the organisation is rebuilt, and student representation is being rebuilt with it. There are no sabbatical officers this year, so the twelve School Representatives collectively cover the work that would normally sit with a full-time Education Officer. If you want a job where what you do actually shapes the organisation, this is it.
The role
Pay: £15.07 per hour, including holiday pay (£13.45 at the living wage rate, with 12.07% rolled-up holiday pay on top)
Hours: Approximately 5 to 10 hours per week, although exact hours will vary week to week.

Start date: As soon as possible after appointment, running to the end of the 2026/27 academic year
The two roles are one undergraduate place and one postgraduate taught place. You'll represent the academic interests of students in your school. That means sitting on university committees, leading Academic Assemblies, supporting student survey work, and helping build and strengthen the programme representative system for the rest of the year. Between the representatives, we cover the full range of university committee seats that require student representation, including Senate, Council, Court and Learning and Teaching Committee.
Full training is provided and paid before you begin your duties, and you'll have ongoing support throughout the year from the Students' Union and the University's representation team.
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Can confidently advocate for students and represent their academic interests
- Are comfortable speaking in high-level university committees and leading assemblies
- Take student democracy, feedback, and structural representation seriously
- Can commit to being available at reasonable notice when committees and assemblies are scheduled
The key things you need to know before applying
You must be a student in the School of Nursing, Public Health and Healthcare Leadership. These two roles represent students within that school, so you need to be studying there.
You must be a current University of Bradford student for the full 2026/27 year. These roles are only open to students who are enrolled and studying at the University for the entire 2026/27 academic year, meaning an end date on E-Vision of May 2027. If your student status expires before the end of the academic year, you are not eligible.
You need to be available for the full duration of the role. The role runs from appointment through to the end of the 2026/27 academic year, and we need someone who can commit to the whole period rather than part of it.
You'll need to be able to work in person. Committees and assemblies happen on campus in Bradford, so please apply on the basis that in-person working is required.
There is a limit on your total student working hours. These roles are paid through the University's Careers Service, which applies a hard limit of 15 hours per week across all student employment. If you already hold another student job, factor that in.
