UBU Sports & Societies Execs are elected through their group to represent and support the activities of the groups. The main posts are usually President, Secretary and Treasurer, all the positions are voluntary. They attend either the sports assembly or activities assembly to voice their opinion on matters pertaining to their group to the President of Activities who will take issues to the University.
There are loads of training opportunties and support available for sports & societies exec through the President of Activities and the student engagement staff.
If you volunteer in a sports or society position (eg. President, Treasurer, Secretary) you automatically become eligible to start your journey in qualifying for one of our special Student Leader Awards at our UBIES event and if you complete 25 hours of volunteering (must be registered with UBU) you can also obtain a HEAR award
Sports & Societies hold events throughout the year and are advertised through Whats On, some large events are organised through UBU, these require more planning, such as UBIES, Varsity, further information on the UBU Events page
