The University of Bradford has directed the Students' Union to pause the elections under its responsibilities in the 1994 Education Act, following complaints about the integrity of the election process.
Peter Robertson at the National Union of Students, who provides independent oversight of our elections as Returning Officer, has been consulted and supports this decision.
The Students' Union takes the fairness of its elections seriously.
It is important that when elections take place, all students can have confidence that the process is fair and that the results reflect a genuine democratic choice.
The complaints are being investigated and we will share further information as soon as we are able to.
All election-related activity is to stop with immediate effect.
We will keep students updated on what happens next regarding elections.
