Team Bradford Spirit of Sport Scholarship - Apply Now for one of five £1500 scholarships
The Team Bradford Spirit of Sport Scholarship provides vital support to students who are committed to university sport but face challenges in pursuing a life-changing degree.
Sport has an extraordinary ability to break down barriers, forge lifelong friendships, and foster a deep sense of community. This scholarship celebrates that connection, enabling students to grow, learn, and thrive — both on and off the field.
It is open to aspiring athletes as well as the dedicated organisers and enthusiastic participants whose passion, drive, and leadership are essential to the success of university sport.
The scholarship has been established by the Football Club Old Boys, a long-standing group of University of Bradford alumni united by their love of sport and the camaraderie built during and since their time at the University. For almost fifty years, this group — now 150 strong — has met annually, cherishing the friendships and opportunities that sport has given them.
As their legacy to Bradford, they have founded this scholarship to empower future generations to succeed and to experience the lifelong benefits of sporting endeavours and friendships. It is also a heartfelt tribute to those of their number who are no longer with us — teammates and friends who played a pivotal role in shaping this unique community.
To promote equality, where possible, at least 2 of the scholarships will be to female applicants.

Shoes Wanted for Art Installation - 16 Days of Activism
Any spare shoes you have can be dropped off at Richmond Reception for inclusion in an art installation.
A powerful visual installation will be on display on campus during the 16 days of activism for the elimination of male violence against women and girls.
We will have wooden boards displaying over 130 pairs of red shoes – the shoes will be painted red. Each pair of shoes will represent a woman who has been killed by her partner or ex-partner in one year in Great Britain. Nearly 3 women a week are killed.
The installation of red shoes symbolising male violence to women was first started in 2009 and is now featured in 80 plus countries globally- and it is now coming to Bradford University!
So, we would like to invite women to donate a pair of shoes preferably red ones, but they can be any colour as we will spray paint them red, to the donation box behind reception in the Atrium of the Richmond Building.
I’m sure most of us have a pair we no longer wear, so please donate for those who sadly can no longer wear theirs, and we will remember them. The installation will serve as a powerful call for community action and solidarity.
