To adopt this society and bring it back to the university, it needs at least three students to be execs. If you or a group of students, would like to be on the exec team, please email the UBU Activities team on ubu-activities@bradford.ac.uk
The standard roles in any society are the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Other common roles are Vice President, Events Officer and Marketing Officer.
Running a society means you can plan exactly what it offers for students. You can organise your own events, meet new people and make friends. You can get recognition for your volunteering with UBU’s Kickstart scheme and at the annual Colours Awards.
UBU will give the society £200 in grant funding and there’s more funding available for which you can apply for. We also provide training and support all year.

WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSITY OF BRADFORD'S OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SOCIETY!
The University of Bradford is ranked 3rd in the UK for Occupational Therapy in the Complete University Guide 2021!
What are our aims?
Our aims for our new society consist of several objectives:
Firstly, we plan to increase the socialisation between the three cohorts. We excel academically, so why shouldn't we aim to excel socially also? University can be full of stresses and pressures, so it is important to have time to let off some steam and have a healthy work-life balance! Secondly, we hope to plan events throughout the coming academic years for charities which are close to home or promote the OT profession.
We also hope to organize trips (suggested by all of you) that will aid in our academic learning!
We are very excited for what is to come, we hope that all of you are too!
Who are the exec members?
PRESIDENT: Anam Adeel, final year student.
Hi all and welcome to the OT Society page,
My name is Anam, and I am the President for the OT society for 2020/2021. I am currently in my final year! Long story short, the Occupational Therapy Society successfully launched during my first year when the former president created a platform for all the Occupational Therapy students in this university to communicate and provide support to each other throughout the academic year.
Social events were created in which many students enjoyed them (having meals together...). Additionally, clothing purchases were made available to students and will continue in 2020 which is a great accomplishment!
For this upcoming academic year 2020/ 21 some key aims of the Occupational Therapy Society are:
I think that some assignment workshops with second and third-year students tips and tricks would also be really beneficial so this is something I aim to look into! I want society to be a fun space and community, so I am constantly brainstorming new ideas to make this a reality. I hope that you all join as members to our family!
TREASURER: Jeremy Quarshie-Halm, final year student.
Hi, I’m Jeremy third-year OT student. My aim as treasurer is to use the money we receive in the best way possible to make sure the society can provide interesting and informative experiences for all its members. I also hope the society can bring together the three years and improve communication and an exchange of ideas. I look forward to getting to know all of you.
SECRETARY: Salina Mahmood
Hi, my name is Salina and I am a second-year occupational therapy student. As a secretary, I have to inform cohorts of all years about the latest news and events of society. I also liaise with the president in all sorts of events of society and support in organising the events. This year, I wish the relationship between cohorts of three years can be closer to support each other in different aspects such as academic and social aspects. I really hope all of you can join this society and enjoy the events organised by us!
