Ashura Awareness Week

14 Century's ago the Grandson of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w), Imam Hussain (a.s) was martyed along with his family and companions in Karbala. He showed us that we must stand up for right against wrong, whatever the cost. This is known as the Tragedy of Karbala and every year on the 10th Muharram (Ashura) over 30 million people go to visit his Holy Shrine in the city of Karbala in Iraq. We aim to Commemorate his sacrifice, learn and show others the 'why' Imam Hussain (a.s) did what he did and not just the 'how'. We will be signing up people for our Annual Imam Hussain Blood Donation Campaign to donate blood with the NHS for those in need. We will also beshowing videos on a projector, handing out flyers and other materials. We will also have a board up witha 'who inspires you?' notice so people can put up names of people that inspire them and give appreciation to those that have got us to where we are today.
