Welcome to the University of Bradford!
Come and join the University of Bradford Equestrian Team - we are extremely friendly, competitive and know how to have fun!
We ride every Wednesday afternoon at Tong lane End, a local yard with a wide range of horses and instructors to cater for all abilities, from complete beginner who has never sat on a horse before to seasoned rider.
Each rider is placed in a lesson to suit their needs and abilities so that they can progress on a weekly basis.
We compete within the BUCS league at both the individual and team level in the dressage and showjumping disciplines. Competitions are challenging but most importantly they are very rewarding and fun! Teams of four compete with the possibility of qualifying for regional and national competitions. Team selections will be held during the first few weeks of term.
We also hold socials which consist of a series of fun games organised by our fantastic social secretary's.Don't worry if you don't drink, as you can still join in the fun without drinking alcohol. Our socials are always very friendly, fun, welcoming and a brilliant way to make new and lasting friends!
As a member of University of Bradford Equestrian Team, you will also get to enjoy multiple club meals and outings throughout the year, along with the annual sports awards where we’ve won various awards for our committed members.

Memberships paid to UBU are non-refundable by default. Members of UBU are subject to the Code of Conduct, and memberships may be revoked by Executives, Committees, Assemblies or Council in the case of breach of the Code of Conduct or other terms and conditions.
Memberships to Activity Groups and Sport Clubs are available to all current UoB students. Availability for UBU Associate members is on the discretion of the respective Governing body. For more information, please contact ubu@bradford.ac.uk
If you take part in the Governance processes of a Club or Group, then the membership fee will not be refunded. If you wish to be removed as a member of a club or group after you’ve joined, please email ubu@bradford.ac.uk.
Activity group membership :
£1 of each membership goes to the Activities Development Fund which is overseen by the Activities Committee and goes to support any Activity Group. The rest of the fee goes to the Activity group you are joining.
These are non-refundable unless approved by the Executive Team of the Activity Group which you have joined. The Executive Team can refuse refund requests, and you can contact UBU Activities if you are unhappy with their decision.
UBU Sport membership:
£1 of each membership goes to the Sports Development Fund which is overseen by the Sports Committee, and goes to support any Sports Club. The rest of the fee is used to cover the running cost of sports. These are non-refundable unless approved by the Sports Committee and UBU Sports Department.
Joint sports membership refunds:
50% goes to UBU Sport and follows the above conditions. 50% goes to Unique for the Fitness offer, and follows their terms and conditions.
