The UBU's sport club of the year 2020-2021 and 2021-2022

The Bradford Ravens Cheerleading team gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself by learning new skills required to partake in this unique and rewarding sport.  The Bradford Ravens pride themselves on being a very open and diverse team and welcome all genders and abilities to all aspects of our teams. The Ravens team are a very successful and competitive team, which partake in competitions throughout the academic year. We enter teams to compete in full cheer, stunt and pom dance.

Our full cheer team curreently compete at level 1. Full cheer combines the three disciplines of cheerleading, which are tumbling, stunting and dancing in one routine. In previous seasons, the Ravens have been extremely successful and have won several first place trophies and have even been crowned grand champions.

Each year we also enter individual stunt groups into compeitions, which are usually entered at level 1. This involves smaller groups of individuals and focuses on the stunting aspect of cheerleading, which is lifting and throwing people in the air.

Our stunt and full cheer team has a coach that has competed in world and we work alongside Aviators, which are a well known and extremely successful cheerleading organisation based in Leeds. Our collobaration with the Aviators was new in 2020/2021 and we're extremely excited to work with them for the second year running.

We are a very sociable team and love to get together. Every Wednesday, we have socials where everyone can get together and have a good time and bond with eachother and there is no pressure to consume alcohol. We also have regular team meals and often celebrate after every successful competition. We also aim to have a number of sober socials to ensure that everyone is included. As a club, we also go on tour every year with other Team Bradford teams.

Our team is very inclusive and far from the typical stereotype of cheerleaders! We welcome everyone regardless of ability and experience - no try outs are required to join! So why not give it a go and come fly with us?
