Bradford University Society of Operettas and Musicals (BUSOM) is currently dormant and is up for adoption.
To adopt this society and bring it back to the university, it needs at least three students to be execs. If you or a group of students, would like to be on the exec team, please email the UBU Activities team on ubu-activities@bradford.ac.uk
The standard roles in any society are the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Other common roles are Vice President, Events Officer and Marketing Officer.
Running a society means you can plan exactly what it offers for students. You can organise your own events, meet new people and make friends. You can get recognition for your volunteering with UBU’s Kickstart scheme and at the annual Colours Awards.
UBU will give the society £200 in grant funding and there’s more funding available for which you can apply for. We also provide training and support all year.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are the Bradford University Society of Operettas and Musicals or BUSOM for short! We welcome people with all abilities and areas of interest within theatre, on the stage or backstage. We want to grow our talented, loving family as much as possible!
Last year was really tough for all theatres therefore we are even more excited to be back! We perform two or three showcases a year, details of which are listed below and will be updated as soon as we have more information confirmed.
With its friendly meetings, fantastic performances and excellent social side, it’s little surprise that many members have found BUSOM to be at the heart of their university experience.
Give-it-a-go sessions: come and join us on the 21st, 23rd, 28th and 30th of September. We prepare some games, acting and singing to give you a feel of how the rehearsals look like.
