Welcome to the University of Bradford Badminton Club!

 

Get involved today with the fastest racket sport in the world, whether you just want to have fun or prefer the challenge of competition - there is something for everyone!

 

Badminton Club runs various activites and events throughout the year, including regular team training sessions and casual sessions.

Casual Sessions

 

Badminton runs weekly casual sessions for you to come and play Badminton whatever ability you are, to have fun and interact with other students including team members.

 

Casual Sessions will run every Monday/Friday starting from Monday 5th of October 2023 until the end of semester. They will then resume for Semester 2 in 2024.

 

These sessions are open to ALL university students. You MUST have a Sports Membership to attend these sessions..

 

Equipment is provided including rackets and shuttles during the sessions, however, we are severely limited with the amount of rackets that we can provide for everyone. 

We encourage you to bring your own rackets and your a water bottleto stay hydrated!

 

 

Date: Monday (3pm to 5pm) / Friday (2pm to 4pm) 

 

Location: Unique Fitness & Lifestyle, Sports Hall

Badminton Team Training

 

The University of Bradford Badminton Club competes in the BUCS league, against other university badminton clubs in the UK. The Badminton Club consists of the men's and women's team, with singles and doubles players.

 

The team trains twice every week, in order to improve technique, skill and fitness as well as building our team spirit! Team Training is Thursdays 8.30-10pm and Sat 2-4pm.

Memberships paid to UBU are non-refundable by default. Members of UBU are subject to the Code of Conduct, and memberships may be revoked by Executives, Committees, Assemblies or Council in the case of breach of the Code of Conduct or other terms and conditions.

Memberships to Activity Groups and Sport Clubs are available to all current UoB students. Availability for UBU Associate members is on the discretion of the respective Governing body. For more information, please contact ubu@bradford.ac.uk

If you take part in the Governance processes of a Club or Group, then the membership fee will not be refunded. If you wish to be removed as a member of a club or group after you’ve joined, please email ubu@bradford.ac.uk.

Activity group membership :

£1 of each membership goes to the Activities Development Fund which is overseen by the Activities Committee and goes to support any Activity Group. The rest of the fee goes to the Activity group you are joining.  

These are non-refundable unless approved by the Executive Team of the Activity Group which you have joined. The Executive Team can refuse refund requests, and you can contact UBU Activities if you are unhappy with their decision.

UBU Sport membership:

£1 of each membership goes to the Sports Development Fund which is overseen by the Sports Committee, and goes to support any Sports Club. The rest of the fee is used to cover the running cost of sports. These are non-refundable unless approved by the Sports Committee and UBU Sports Department.

Joint sports membership refunds:

50% goes to UBU Sport and follows the above conditions. 50% goes to Unique for the Fitness offer, and follows their terms and conditions.
