We are UBU Archery! We are one of the fastest growing sports at the University of Bradford, as well as one of the friendliest - with our largest team ever competing regionally and nationally. We run fun and welcoming training sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays in the Sports Hall and compete in tournaments and friendlies throughout the year. Whether you’ve shot all your life or never picked up a bow before, we have the right coaching for you.
Don’t want to compete? Don’t worry, you won’t miss out! Our social events run throughout the year, with both drinking and non-drinking events every month, and, of course, the university wide Colours Ball at the end of the year for you to attend. Archery is great for both males and females, whether you think you’re weak or strong – everyone starts at the same place, with equipment appropriate for them, so it’s a completely level playing field. It’s great for improving your core strength and stability, and we provide all the equipment required.
We also welcome archers with disabilities – archery is a very inclusive sport, so come and talk to us to find out if we can accommodate you. Whether that’s with specialist equipment, a wheelchair, or more specialised coaching, we’ll be happy to provide it if we can!
Check out our Facebook or Twitter pages to find out a little of what we got up to last year – from our successes in the league, coming 1st and 2nd with both our Novice and Experienced teams and 3rd in BUCS, to shooting 13,500 arrows throughout the month of February to raise money for Marie Curie and remember those that have died from cancer.
From indoor training starting in September, to shooting outdoors during the summer, UBU Archery has something for you throughout the entire year - so come and see us any time during Freshers or contact us on social media or email during the year! We look forward to seeing you in September!
