CAT BURNS
Born and raised in Streatham, Cat Burns is ready to stamp her mark on the UK music scene with her bracingly honest and distinctive pop sound and style.
At the age of 18 Cat Burns already knows the value of independence and has always been quietly confident. “I like writing stuff that tells girls we are a lot stronger than we think” says the south London singer-songwriter.
Whilst attending The Brit School in 2016 Cat released her first EP Adolescent, a collection of close-to-the-bone reflections on experiences that every teenager can relate to. Within the first 24 hours of its release it charted at number 11 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts. Cat was also named Jamz Supernova 'Track Of The Week' on 1XTRA with her music has being described as ‘Meaningful Pop, with a urban folk/singer-songwriter twist’.
Her debut single ‘Sober’ (produced by Jake Isaac) dropped in late 2018 further established Cat and gained the attention of leading music publications
JOSH GODDARD
Josh Goddard found his first love, Motown, before he had even picked up an instrument. At a young age Josh was introduced to his main influences. Ray Charles, Sam Cooke and Otis Redding records would be played throughout his childhood and have lived with him to this point. As Goddard began to gain an understanding of songwriting, he started his career in the fertile Mancunion scene. Driven by the ambition that Josh is known for, as a young musician he would play as often as he could to as many, and to as few, people as possible.
After the release of his single, 'Sunday Sun', Josh has been working on his debut EP. Featuring four new tracks that were recorded in Parr Street Studios. Of the EP Josh, says: "I wrote the EP at a time where I was hoping to bring out the pop sensibilities I rely on as a writer, but I also wanted to retain the authentic soul sound that my earlier release has showcased.” The Stumble EP sees Josh continue a similar style that featured on, 'Sunday Sun'. Whilst both the title-track, 'Stumble', and, 'On My Mind' are drawn-down affairs similar to his prior release, both, 'Roll With Me', and, 'Hear My Cry', exude a fun sound that Josh is yet to be known for. Fresh, exciting, whilst also retaining an authentic soul sound, the Stumble EP is set for a late-2018 release.
