Freshers Fortnight Starts TODAY!

If you're coming to Bradford for the first time, or if you're a returning student, then Freshers' is the best time of the year. It is where you can take part in loads of activities, social events, join a sports team or society and it's also the time where you will make friends that will last you a lifetime.

There is so much going on, from two-day residential trips, to abseiling, to two freshers' fairs, to go-karting, to cinema, to poetry, trips and much more.

It's going to be amazing.

Welcome to UBU Party

Let's be honest, you don't just come to Bradford to get a degree and a good job, you come for a good time too, and this is where UBU, the Students' Union, comes in. We've planned all the Freshers' events to give you the best student experience. We run trips around the country, sports teams, societies, and loads of other events and you can find out about them here. You'll be able to meet your fellow students, make friends, find out about what is going on, there's a quiz with a fabulous prize and of course there's free food. So come along at 2pm in Student Central (by the Morrisons near the Library).

10 Pin Bowling - £12

The highest score you can get in bowling is 300; for that you have to get 12 strikes in a row. The highest score Anas Iqbal (your Sports and Societies Officer) has got is 65, and that's with him using that little ramp to roll the ball down. Can you beat Anas? This is the second event of our Freshers' Fortnight, so if you're new to Bradford and looking to make friends, pop along, have fun and get a score higher than 65. Laser Tag - £3

Pew pew pew. Zap Zap Zap. Aargh, you got me! Come along and join us for an evening of laser tag. All those hours of playing Call of Duty will finally be useful and you can run around having a great old time. Sessions are 30 minutes long and only cost £3 so register for a time slot by clicking HERE!

Freshers' Fair 1

If you're new to Bradford, then this is the event that you can't miss. All of our student groups will have stalls at the Wednesday Fair and we'll have businesses giving away freebies too. Also, we will have an inflatable fiesta with a 90-foot bouncy assault course on the Amp as well as some pumping tunes. Come along and get involved. Secure your place by clicking HERE!

Alton Towers Day Trip - £35

Thrill seekers unite with our annual trip to Alton Towers, the UK’s biggest and best theme park. There are epic roller coasters including the Smiler and Oblivion. The ticket will cover the cost of entry and travel to the theme park by coach. Tickets are £35 for students and we're only taking two buses so get your ticket quickly HERE!

Freshers' Fair 2 (with Abseil)

Our second Freshers' Fair brings you all the different communities and services in and around Bradford. Here you can meet staff and students and find out about things like volunteering, Black History Month, Theatre in the Mill, and much more. There will also be free abseiling off of the Library Roof! Pub Crawl & Afterparty

Make friends and visit some of the best pubs and bars in Bradford with our annual pub crawl. Organised by our Sports Teams and the Uni Bars, this pub crawl begins and ends at the Below One Bar in the Students' Union. Tickets cost just £3 for the crawl and afterparty. Go-Karting - £30

Horror Tour of Bradford

Join local creepy weirdo Michael Allhouse as he guides you around the campus and city centre to show you historical places where unspeakable and horrible acts have taken place. Owls on Campus

Guess who's back? We're being visited by SMJ Falconry who are bringing a selection of birds of prey to UBU for students to interact with. The University of Bradford sponsors the stadium and as such, we have secured FREE tickets for the home game v Blackpool on Saturday 27th September.
