St Mary's Church, Todmorden welcome help, regularly or occasionally. St Mary's is an inclusive, step free church with hearing loop, working with the community. We have an accessible toilet and registered assistance dogs are of course, welcome. Students, get involved with different flexible opportunities, offering the chance to improve wellbeing, connect with others, make a difference and grow personally and professionally (and spiritually!).
GARDENERS: We could use a few more green fingered hands to help tending to the grounds, weeding and taking care of the garden.
VISITOR HOSPITALITY: We open on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. The more welcomers we have to meet and greet, the more the church can open safely.
CHILDREN'S VOLUNTEERS: Support families on Sundays 11-12.30 or Mondays 9.30-10.45 in Walsden.
COMMUNITY CAFE VOLUNTEERS: Join our Kitchen team on Sunday mornings, on Thursday lunchtimes or at events. Roles include preparing refreshments and food, laying tables, serving visitors, (un)loading the dishwasher and/or clearing up, sweeping and putting away. Join a safe, warm space offering food, drink and companionship.
CASH COUNTERS: Two volunteers work as a pair counting and recording cash collected after the 11am Sunday service, accurately and securely and recording as per our financial systems
Volunteers are offered induction,support and training (mostly on the job) for their role and reasonable adjustments and a DBS check when needed.
Volunteers enjoy a positive way to spend time sharing and building skills and meeting new people.

A supportive team of up to 20 volunteers with 5-6 working each week, you will be alongside another Cook and will be offered recipes and resources required.
