The UBU Award is the scheme your students union uses to recognise the volunteering you do for us and in the local community. The award runs for an academic year and there are 3 levels you can achieve.
You are only eligible for a UBU Award by getting involved in something we organise or support. Our Kick Start opportunities, sport and activity executives, community volunteering, student reps and UBU council members are all eligible for the award.
|UBU AWARD Level 1|
|REQUIREMENTS||Volunteer a minimum of 25 hours over the academic year|
|Complete the required training for your role|
|Explain how you have developed 1 of the employability skills in your volunteer role with evidence|
|REWARD||Recognition on your degree transcript as part of HEAR|
|A certificate from UBU confirming your volunteer role|
|An invite to the UBU Awards Event in May|
|UBU AWARD Level 2|
|REQUIREMENTS||Achieve level 1|
|Volunteer a minimum of 35 volunteer hours over the academic year|
|Explain how you have developed 5 of the employability skills in your volunteer role with evidence|
|REWARD||The rewards for level 1|
|You can use UBU as a reference in job and future education applications|
|UBU AWARD Level 3|
|REQUIREMENTS||Achieve level 2|
|Explain how you have developed 9 of the employability skills in your volunteer role with evidence|
|REWARD||Enhanced certicifate personalised with the hours you've volunteered, training completed and skills developed|
|You graduate at UBU Awards event in May|
When you are involved in an opportunity, information about what training you need to complete and the skills you're likely to develop will be explained by the UBU staff member who supports that department.
We have an online submission form on our website which you can complete at any time during the year. This form must be submitted in order for you to be recognised with an award.
