To start a new society to bring students together to take part in a hobby or celebrate a culture, form a student associoation for your course or bring back a dormant group - this is the first step! The application form below is where you outline your plans, pledge yourself to be the leaders of the group and pitch to the Activities Committee your idea.
Your group must be new and not duplicate any current existing activity group at UBU, or be about bringing a dormant one back to life. A full list of dormant groups can be found here: https://www.bradfordunisu.co.uk/ubu/activities/societies/dormant_societies
Please ensure to fill in the form as detailed as possible. For microsocieties you need at least 1 student to be the exec, for a full or reviving a dormant group you need to have 3 students willing to act as an interim executive team if the application is approved.
You need to write about your aims and objectives, plans for the coming year and all other details about your idea.
The UBU Activities Committee (email@example.com) will look at your application and will contact you by email.
Ideas that are approved will go into the second stage - a trial period of 6 weeks. At the end of the 6 weeks, for a full group you will need to have at least 10 paid members and held an election to confirm an executive team of minimum 3 people.
Deadline for setting up Activity Groups in the 2019/20 academic year is 23:59 on 22nd March
Applications after this will be considered to set up for the 2020/21 academic year
