Description

Birthed in 2012 by our previous Sports Officer (who has since gone on to bigger and better horizons) by the light of a single candle, and built by our students into one of the largest sports clubs on campus, the first generation of Panthers were brought into existence.

We welcome students from all ages and abilities to have a go and try a new sport. Most of our members only started playing lacrosse at University and through their commitment have quickly picked up the dynamic game and progressed straight into our teams for BUCS matches. Training is run by our dedicated Men’s and Women’s captains as well as our wonderful coaches who will soon help you to unleash your inner panther! We focus on fitness, technique, and experience of playing the game so you will receive a well-rounded basis to build upon each session. It is great for building both confidence and coordination, so you will get to know your competitive side in no time!

We train at the Laisteridge Lanes astros on Tuesdays (5-7pm) and Fridays (6:30-8:30pm)

We hold weekly socials which accommodate all of our members and regularly spend time together as a club so you will quickly be integrated into the lacrosse community. Club meals are held throughout the year to catch up and celebrate how far we’ve come. The club is all about inclusivity and are well-known for our friendly attitude, often hosting socials with other clubs. Team bonding is a major element of the club on and off the pitch, and we offer a Lacrosse Tour each year to soak up some sunshine and play the mighty game abroad with your teammates. Plenty of members do not drink so don’t worry if you don’t because we welcome everyone into the family!

Other than training and socials, lacrosse takes part in the University’s annual Intramural Games and Team Bradford Tournament, as well as a number of charity fundraisers. A few examples of charitable Panther endeavours are the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, money collections for Marie Curie, taking part on the Bradford City run and many more! We like to be heavily involved whenever we can, so it’s a great opportunity to experience University and meet new friends as well as gain great life experiences.

If you think you have it in you to be a future Bradford Lacrosse Panther, don’t hesitate to contact us and join in our legendary journey to true lacrosse greatness.

Don’t forget to follow us on social media to keep up with everything we do!
