Through a dedicated society, additional teaching and regular contests and projects, we aim to give our members a greater appreciation for all fields of games, animation, media, and web design, while giving them the opportunity to work with a vast range of software from those fields.

One side of the society's focus will be on regular teaching sessions, where students will deliver their own instruction, on software beyond the scope of normal lectures. The schedule changes quickly; every two weeks, a new program will be examined. These sessions will also allow members time to collaborate on their own projects, and directly to learn from more experienced students.

Regular, smaller-scale contests and briefs form the second pillar of our strategy. These will be one week long, and will be comprised of a specific brief in a very specific field. Make a hard-surface sci-fi model, create a 2D platformer, or direct a clip like Tarantino. Some will be collaborative, others won't. Quite apart from giving you a pimped-out portfolio, the results of these projects will be displayed around the university for all to see, including alongside the end-of-year third year showcase.

We're here to take this field seriously, and so are you. We want to go as far as we can, as fast as we can, and we hope you'll join us.

Hey there guys, this has already been covered by another commenter but like this society essentailly already exists and has been trying to collaborate with the faculty for ages, and is inclusive of hobbyists not enrolled with EI as well. They're on FB here: https://facebook.com/BradfordStudentProductions/
