Description

Amnesty International is currently dormant and is up for adoption.

To adopt this society and bring it back to the university, it needs at least three students to be execs. If you or a group of students, would like to be on the exec team, please email the UBU Activities team on ubu-activities@bradford.ac.uk

The standard roles in any society are the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Other common roles are Vice President, Events Officer and Marketing Officer.

Running a society means you can plan exactly what it offers for students. You can organise your own events, meet new people and make friends. You can get recognition for your volunteering with UBU’s Kickstart scheme and at the annual Colours Awards.

UBU will give the society £200 in grant funding and there’s more funding available for which you can apply for. We also provide training and support all year.

The Bradford Amnesty International Society aims to create awareness of the work carried out by Amnesty International. The aim of Amnesty is to protest those around the world who are denied justice, freedom, truth and dignity. At Amnesty we will be trying to raise awareness of various global campaigns. Our members will also have the opportunity to fundraise for Amnesty and get involved in the wider work organised by Amnesty International. Members will also be invited to events and conferences organised by Amnesty UK.

Everyone is welcome and we look forward to meeting you all in the new semester!
